Arturia ms209/27/2023 ![]() If you haven’t been contacted, don’t be discouraged: we’ll continue to look for emails we’ve received over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on your inbox. After we’ve selected submissions, today we’re sharing the first edition of Show As Your Studio. We’ve had an overwhelming response and want to thank everyone who sent in studio shots. Or maybe you just really love skeuomorphic interfaces that look like vintage gear, this one’s got a lot of texture and I think Arturia have done a good job to keep it from looking outdated any time soon.Last week, we announced show us your studio, an opportunity for our readers to show off their set-up, rave about their gear, and invite the world into their home studio. If you like having various options, it’s worth giving a shot, you can even check out some of the included presets I got to participate in creating. And nearly every control can be modulated.įilter MS-20 is a rather simple effect, really just a filter and drive. You get an enelope follower, step sequencer, and function generator. This one is a bit more minimal, with only one of each module. I’m really enjoying the new modulation system being placed into all the new effects. The filter is both a lowpass and highpass, with a main filter cutoff knob, which controls both low and high stages, then independent controls for offset and peak resonance. Luckily it’s not just a filter, there is also a distortion stage which can be placed either before or after the filter stage. I’m not one to judge how closely or accurately Arturia replicated the MS-20 here, but I will say having a variety of options is always nice. Filters all seem to contain their own unique and distinct characteristics, and I assume this is particularly true of vintage analog filters. Arturia continue to add to their Effects Collection with another modelled filter.
